What do you mean you only cater to specific groups?

EBM seeks to prioritise space for folks who often do not have as much ease in finding literate practitioners as folks with more social mobility and privilege. For this reason this practice is only available for folks who identify as any of the following:

  • Queer and trans

  • People living with chronic illness and/or pain

  • Disabled

  • Survivors of trauma

Besides wanting to prioritise space for folks in these groups to receive care, these are also groups in which I feel I belong. I find serving my community in this kind of care to be mutually nourishing.

If you are unsure if where you fit in this please feel free to contact me.

Are you taking new clients?

Yes! You can just head to the booking page and find a spot that works for you.

Do you see clients on the NDIS?

I do! Feel free to email me directly or via your case worker to discuss. As everyone’s plan is different its best to check before hand and make sure:
- your plan will cover bodywork sessions
- who I will be invoicing
- what item numbers to use as I cannot recommend item numbers for claiming.

Any questions about this feel free to get in touch!

You mention “professional clinic environment” what does that mean?

I operate out of a clinic room in Sunrise Pelvic Physiotherapy. I am separate to this practice and sublet the space. The building is wheelchair accessible. For full access info please see the location page.

Do you offer home visits?

Currently I am completely at capacity and as such I am not providing mobile massage.

I have never had a massage before, what will happen when I get there?

For a full run down of how exactly the session will run, see my approach page.

Being undressed around strangers is uncomfortable for me, are there other options for a treatment?

Absolutely! I am happy to talk with you around options for partial clothing or full clothing as there are lots of options for clothed massage. Techniques are altered to accommodate for the fabric but it is still very effective, calming and great for remedial massage. See my approach page for an idea of how the sessions normally run.

Do you do relaxation massage?

Yes I do offer relaxation massage! I see relaxation as a remedy just of a different kind and so my relaxation rates are the same as pregnancy or remedial massage. You can just book under the remedial massage option as we will have a chat about what you would like out of treatment before we start.

What is your cancellation policy?

To make up for lost income please see below for sliding scale cancellation rates:
Cancelling WITHIN 24hrs of appointment (eg: the night before) :  Sliding scale range 50-100% of full session cost

Cancelling Same Day (eg: the morning of):  Sliding scale range 70-100% of  full session cost

No show at appointment time:   100%  of Full session cost

I have a cold, should I still come for my massage?

No! Besides living in the context of COVID (see the COVID-19 page for precautions), massage can stimulate the immune system and bring on colds and flus faster and often more intensely. Besides this, EBM strives to prioritise folks with complex health conditions who are at higher risk when it comes to contagious bugs. I know it sucks to lose a massage but it is better for everyone to minimise the spread of germs, so just stay home! If you are sick just let me know and we can reschedule your appointment for when you are feeling better.

Are you vaccinated against COVID-19?

Yes! I am up to date with Covid and flu vaccines

What COVID precautions do you have in place?

I am fully masked in sessions and ask clients to do the same unless unable to do so due to medical, access or mental health reasons. As I work in a shared clinical environment waiting rooms are shared with folks who are unmasked - this is out of my control. I use air filters in the treatment space and engage in standard infection control practices including cleaning surfaces and clean linen for every client.

Do you have HICAPS or health fund rebates?

Unfortunately I no longer can offer private health fund rebates.
